The Metro-Rail segment in India is growing at a fast pace with affirmative long-term prospects, supported by the Union Government. The Government has business-friendly policies and financial support towards this fast growing sector. Today use of advanced technology and digitization will be the game changers as they will usher in a highly modernized and efficient Metro-Rail transport system in India. In India, 15 cities have operational metro networks of about 746 km. In total, about 440 km of new metro network development has been approved and another 800 km of the metro network is under the proposal stage. According to a report Metro rail projects in India will generate about Rs 80,000 crore of opportunities for construction companies over the next five years.
