E-Health - #SectorUpdates
E-Health is a dynamic field that combines business, public health, medicine, and technology. The provision of healthcare services via emerging electronic information and communication technologies is known as e-Health. E-health services are delivered in an environment where patients and healthcare professionals engage electronically rather than face-to-face. In India, the digital health market is estimated to reach INR 485.43 billion by 2024 from INR 116.61 billion in 2018. It is expected that this sector will expand at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 27.41 per cent during the 2019-2024 period. Interestingly, India is now also home to 133 health tech start-ups that have seen increased demand during the lockdown. India’s Aarogya Setu app is a proof to the growing public ease with e-health services. This app was developed in 21 days, and it quickly became the most downloaded Covid-19 tracking app in the world.
