Biostimulants - #SectorUpdates
Biostimulants are compounds that can be administered to soil, seeds, and plants. In order to influence plant growth through enhanced tolerance to abiotic stimuli and boost seed and/or grain yield and quality, these chemicals alter essential and structural processes of plants. Biostimulants also lessen the requirement for fertilizers. The Government of India recently published an amendment to the Fertilizer (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Amendment Order, 2021, which announces the regulations surrounding bio-stimulants in India. India is currently one of the few nations in the world with specific regulation for bio-stimulants. The market for biostimulants in India is anticipated to increase at a CAGR of 14.06% over the next five years. It will grow from US$58.112 million in 2020 to reach US$145.947 million by 2027.
